7 of our mini CJC warriors travelled to Coach Vince Skillcorn’s home town of Portsmouth to fight in the South of England Open at the Mount Batten centre. I went to watch and support so I have a little more detail about the young fighters performance this time.

Amsterdam Grand Prix – 19 & 20th November

Samoa World Cup- Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th Sunday

Two days and 3 flights got our four CJC warriors to Samoa to compete in the World Cup. All focussed on gathering Olympic qualifying points. 5 of our senior Camberley fighters travelled to Boras, Sweden for the next European Cup event. Nathon Burns -66kg was on a mission, ploughing through his first four fights to get himself in the final against a Russian fighter. Camberley had 3 fighters competing in the Junior British Nationals in Sheffield, the competition was important for selection on to the England squad. British Judo Performance Academy

Camberley Judo Club has become the first Judo Club in Britain to receive a Performance Academy status from the British Judo Association. The status formalises the Club within the performance network and its relationship with the British Judo Performance Institute in Dartford.

Heart of England Championships 2011

This year the Heart of England moved from the NIA to Walsall campus. A smaller venue but still with 5 mats running. The event was well attended with lots of competitors. Camberley had a total of 6 fighters in the tournament all hoping to come away with a medal.
