Camberley Judo Clubs First Inter Club Championship, a success!!!!

Posted 20/06/18

Sunday the 17rth June we hosted the first Camberley judo club inter teams competition. The aim was to have beginners to the elite in mixed teams. We had 6 teams of 6, with a parent leader and captain.

The contests were 3 mins long and were refereed by Luke Preston. Split decisions were decided by rock, paper, scissors by the parent team leader. Many decisions were made by the parent leader, as the final scores were 3-3. Tony Baxter feeling the pressure in the final to win for Ashley McKenzies team. (Lanina Solley, Blake Crampton, Anya Eadie, Ella Merriman and Owen Fitzpatrick).

There were some outstanding performances on the day and notably Elle Fitzpatrick who won best best ippon of the day. Riley Bowden winning best performance trophy.

The spirit that was shown on the day from the older athletes with younger inexperienced players was great to see.

Lance Wicks who helped on the day with the scoreboards, drove from South Hampton which was much appreciated and Coach Vince Skillcorn running the day.

I would like to thank The Charles Family for sponsoring the event.

Look forward to getting this event in the calendar for 2019!
