Posted 16/07/10

In 2009 the world famous Pennyhill Park Hotel hosted the inaugural judo ashes when members of Camberley Judo Club’s elite team faced the Australian national team at a black tie dinner. The team event saw Camberley triumphant 5 matches to 1 with 1 drawn contest. This year, on the 25th November, Camberley will take on the Welsh National team at South Lodge Hotel, Horsham-another 5 star venue from Exclusive Hotels. Camberley Olympians and future Olympians such as Karina Bryant, Sam Lowe, Danny Williams and Nathon Burns will fight members of the Welsh team who are preparing to excel at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014. The evening again promises to be a memorable one with a champagne reception, four course meal, various displays and the team match. The event will be compered by Richard Keys and will include interviews with World Champion and double Olympic medallist  Kate Howey MBE and Sir Clive Woodward who led the England rugby team to the World title in 2009. With the combination of electrifying judo, and the very best food and drink in England, this will be an evening not to be missed. All funds raised will go to supporting Camberley Judo Club and it’s athletes.
